  1. I love this and want it to be a poster. Something a teensy bit surreal about this, the juxtapostin, little house/big house, wooden house/plastic house, the colour, the precise objects. It’s like a a child’s toy set come to life. Love the child in the costume — the link between pretend land and real land.

  2. I’m with you Christy Ann. There’s something about the colour that gives it this strange feeling. Is it an old photo? Oh, and the hands! Just delightful. It reminds me of a summer day when Nellie was about 2, and we were strolling along Dundas, and suddenly we came upon a spider man, full costume, pressed against a huge brick wall, standing perfectly still. Nellie’s jaw dropped. We stood and looked at him, and he looked at us with his spidery eyes, and then we moved on. I think she thought it was REALLY him.

Too funny – because as a grandmother, I know the little guy was dead serious, thinking he was spiderman. To me, that’s the message I get from this beautifully captured image – a little boy’s world of make-believe and dreams.

    From Christine Barbetta:

“I love his concentration on getting those fingers positioned right. Soooo many memories of that plastic house too — I bought one very similar (only very pink and girly) from Eaton’s about 25 years ago for my first two kidsters when we lived in the country. Perfect accommodation for superheroes too.

The blue door and siding in the photo is stunning and a great contrast.”

Gorgeous image of a superhero still brilliantly innocent and oblivious to the fact he’s living in a dollhouse. The primary colours enhance the clarity and simplicity of childhood. Lovely photo!!

The Spidey eyes have it! It seems he’s not quite sure which hand to choose …
